A few more things...

independant servers

  • would it be possible to set up independant servers that are not linked to a user's profile, but he who sets it up would automatically be the admin ? This would actually make more sense for corporate use f.ex. where servers would be linked to the entity or departments rather than individuals. It might also suit individuals who prefer to set up servers for different scenarios, such a work, friends, leisure or whatever, without having them all tied to one specific (personal) profile.
  • if not, then there ought to be a better separation in the chat window between individual users and servers, like a separation bar separating two big categories, such as people/servers each having f.ex. an arrow that could trigger a dropdown menu for the details

visuals for different profiles (tabs)

  • already suggested this somewhere. Would be nice to be able to toggle between different profiles and/or servers having a tabbed interface f.ex. for each one i wish to visualize.

tor mail (+ text formatting)

  • i guess we'll be able to set up hidden websites in one of the upcoming versions, could a tor mail service be included in that (might be linked to a specific server f.ex. if required)? The advantage would be that it'd allow for easier typing lengthier texts than just short chats. Text formatting would be welcome.

in-app record voice message

  • while waiting for true voice & video calls...

i2p support

I did find a link in reddit and github to something that would enable it, but don't know what it's worth : [https://www.reddit.com/r/i2p/comments/pu0muw/aio_i2p_instant_messenger/](https://) [https://github.com/eyedeekay/sam-forwarder](https://)

this is currently how servers work. All servers setup are not associated with a profile. Servers can also be hosted outside of the app using: https://git.openprivacy.ca/cwtch.im/server

tor mail (+ text formatting)

one of the goals for upcoming versions is to build UX for longer-form content (i.e. not chat)

in-app record voice message

Will likely be a part of 1.7/1.8 release (Apr-May release) (depends on the state of flutter audio widgets, which last I checked was not great)

i2p support

Cwtch was built to be able to handle different underlying ACNs but I doubt we would put the effort in to build an i2p version at this point. At some point we will adopt newer ACNs based on state-of-the-art anonymity protocols (like e.g. Nym) once support for anonymous services in those systems matures.

thx for the feedback. Looking forward to all these goodies :).
Will the revamped UI for longer-form content include the ability to format text and to have mail-like functions such as sending to more than one recipient, f.ex. with CC or BCC fields ?
