We use a library that uses Dbus for notifications on Linux. If Dbus doesn't exist or isn't accessible errors will be thrown see: cwtch.im/cwtch#376

We should do our own checks here and turn off notifications if setting up the client fails..

some dbus function seems to be very required, crashes/screws up other parts of the code when missing #376
