Hello again @sarah, I've been thinking about the possibility of translating the official website, also into other languages as well as the application. The purpose of this is to make one of the main channels of information for the user, accessible in your language.

Also, I would like to know, if web development is an area available for volunteering, since my main area of expertise is web development =)

On translations: One of the main tasks we've been doing in recent months is moving much of the current cwtch website over to the handbook: https://docs.cwtch.im/ - which has proper support for translations (built using https://docusaurus.io/docs). (source code is here: https://git.openprivacy.ca/cwtch.im/docs.cwtch.im or you can join the crowdin group: https://docs.cwtch.im/docs/contribute/translate#cwtch-users-handbook)

There is still a lot of content to write but the current plan is to move more and more to https://docs.cwtch.im/ over time and (probably) deprecate the current website at some point.

On that (and the general web development) front, there are a few tasks that I think could be moved forward:

  • Creating new sections like Downloads and a Development Log on the docs site (https://git.openprivacy.ca/cwtch.im/docs.cwtch.im)
  • Moving / Merging the Security Handbook with the docs site (to allow that to be translated too)
  • At some point I would really like to work out a nice way of integrating the docs into the cwtch app itself as we have a lot of useful information in docs that would be nice to surface in-app in a secure way

Also if you have any other ideas for how the website could be better feel free to raise them :)
