e.g. www.example.com becomes http://www.example.com - as a rule no cwthc overlay should change the literal value of the inputed text when displaying.

Looked into this. Fixing it would require changes to the underlying library. May end up bringing that code into UI to have more control over it. For now I've made it consistent (always https if undefined)
