Code in lcg should ensure this works. Needs investigation.

NB. When I imported the profile only two profile images were transfered. I did interact with the conversation pane before remembering to turn on experiments and set a downloads folder. That was a subfolder of the ~Downloads folder. I changed that subsequently to a folder at the top level of ~, then deleted the profile images and reset tor which caused one of the images to be redownloaded (Update Bot). Which I think means the download folders setting is valid.

So I decided to have a look at the cwtch downloads folder on my other machine and discovered that all the preview images were blank. That despite the fact that all the images were correct in Cwtch. Bloody minded dolt that I am I decided to move the images out of the folder and start up Cwtch again to see what would happen. As you might expect all the p2p images came up with placeholder avatars. I then put all the images back into the downloads folder and started up again and, you guessed it, they all came up with placeholders. I'm still waiting to see if they eventually redownload. I'll keep you posted.

No. They did not.

I'm trying to remember if at some point I changed the download folder location and copied everything over to the new location. I'm trying to account for how the images might have been corrupted, if that's what happened. Not to mention the fact that everything was fine in the UI despite the blank images in the file system.

Does anything in the 'Saved application state' folder for Cwtch relate to profile images? [Edit -seems very unlikely]
